Social media was a really fun class and I learned a lot of stuff that can actually come in handy in life. Like blogging for a business of yours or making a recipe blog or anything. I also really like Google docs because you can use it on any computer not just a Mac, and that's good because not everyone that has a computer have Macs. I have decided that if there is a Social Media 2 next year I think that I will take it because I would like to learn more about things that are on the internet.

Imagination Cubed

I did a drawing with Liz, and I like it pretty well. We did this on Imagination Cubed and it is a website that you can go to and draw by yourself or with your friends. Google has thousands of templates that you can use to make calenders, resumes, and calculators. There are many different templates that you can use and share with other people.

Firefox Add-ons

Firefox add-on is cool because you can put games and stuff up by your HTML area. I added a game and a mail thing that will tell me when I have mail.

Google Docs

I like Google docs because you can take your work from any computer and take it to another or you can share with people you know and if you need help with revising or something they can do that and while they are you can watch everything they are doing right on your screen. You can also talk to them on a chat thing on the page that is being worked on.

A favicon is cool because you can design what you want and then it will show up on your tab bar and at the top by the web site address. If you are interested in changing yours click here.
TINY CHAT: Tiny Chat is a website that you can go to and if you have a webcam and a mic or just a mic you can talk to people that you know, like family members or something like that. It is really fun to do and mess with and if it sounds fun to you click here.

Google Voice

I did Google voice for my presentation and I learned that you can text and call from your computer. You get your own phone number to use while you are using this product. It was kind of hard to set up because the confirmation number they gave me was wrong so I had to redo a lot of what I had done. After everything was done the way it needed to be it was really good because you can do a lot with it. Call, text, listen to your voice mails, and record stuff.

Domain Name

Domain is a website name/address. You can buy your own domain name and then that way no one else can have that domain name. You can go to a website we looked at today and you can buy a domain name.

Bibme

Bibme is a website that you can go to, to cite books, magazines, movies, and internet. It is actually really easy and quick and it alphabetizes it for you.

Firefox Personas

It is a background picture of your heading. It is actually really cool because you can choose from thousands of different designs to put on. Some of them are animated so that's pretty cool to. You do have to use Firefox though and it only stays on the computer that you did it on.

iGoogle is a fun thing to mess with because you can add all kinds of different gadgets to your page/pages, and you can have games, optical allusions, counters, and horoscopes. You can also add to do lists and blog gadgets.

Histats

Histats is a pretty cool website that you can go to and get website counters. They tell you when people come to your website and it could even tell you where they are from. If your interested in histats click here and it will take you there.

Blogger Gadgets

Blogger gadgets are a cool thing to look at. Blogger has so many different gadgets that you can add to your blog. I have a countdown clock, google chat, and a fish feeding gadget on my blog. They have all kinds of chat gadgets and clocks and calenders. They have about 1200 different gadgets that you can choose from. They also have games that you can add to you blog.

Stats

The stats feature is really awesome because you can see who is looking at your blog. You can also see where people come from like I had 3 from Canada and 124 from the United States. I think that is cool because you can see who and from what countries your blog views come from.

Word Clouds

Wordle is one of the word cloud web sites we mess with. It is a fun tool to mess with because you can do all sorts of things with it. You can do assignments with it and do speeches and with words you may say alot you can make them bigger than everything else. Image Chef is another one that is alot of fun to work with because you can make jerseys and and you can make shapes with whatever words you want in them.

Meez Room

This meez application is actually very cool. You can make a room and you can design it how you want it. You also go to different "hoods" and go to like pool parties and stuff like that. To look at my room click here.

Diigo

Diigo is another website that we have started working with and it is actually pretty cool. You can highlight passages or whatever you want with a tool that you download. When you highlight something it will automatically save it to your library. When you leave and you want to go back to it later all you have to do is go to that website and you can find exactly what you highlighted because it will still be highlighted when you go back. It also saves the web address that goes with it.

Delicious is a really fun website that you can have where you save all your bookmarks on. You can access the bookmarks that you have saved on there from any computer that you use. You can also see how many other people use a certain website and see how other people like it. People can leave comments on the site about a certain bookmark and why they use it or why you should.

Symbaloo is a website that you can go to and you can add websites to it that you might go to a lot or that you found and you don't want to lose. It is actually a pretty cool website to use and mess with.

Avatar

This is my voki and I have learned how to make them work and how to make them. I like having it because if you don't want your real picture being shown you can use an avatar and make it look similar but not the same. You can also make them talk so you can welcome people to your page or you can send an email to a friend telling them hi or whatever you want to tell them.

How I currently use Social Media

When I am online I am usually on Facebook or Myyearbook and sometimes I get on Yahoo. I get bored with them sometimes though because they don't change much.


I upload pictures on Facebook and I have also tried picnik but I didn't really have time to figure it out very well. 


I am hoping to learn a lot about skype because I think that it will be fun to do and be able to talk to people that are away from you.
